If you visit Kuala Lumpur, you have to make the architectural pilgrimage to the city’s world-famous Petronas Towers. At 451.9 m (1,483 ft), Malaysia’s beautiful twin towers reigned supreme from 1998-2004. But after Taipei 101 and now Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, which dwarfs every building on the planet, these beauty queens have long lost their title.

Don’t feel too bad for them, they still remain the tallest twin towers and the dramatic Sky Bridge is the highest such structure in the world, so those who love superlatives should be satisfied. They’re so impressive that we thought they merited one of our 360 panoramic views.

Unlike other skyscrapers around the globe, the focus here is walking across the Sky Bridge rather than zooming up to the upper viewing deck. If you want to walk across the bridge, which is not truly fixed to the buildings but rather designed to allow movement (yikes), you need to get to the towers at latest 8 AM in the morning to line up for tickets. (7 AM would be a safer bet.) Be warned that your actual assigned time to visit the bridge might be much later in the day, so don’t plan on moving on too quickly.

Tickets to walk across the Sky Bridge, which are listed as free in many guidebooks, now cost 10 ringgit. In addition, you are tortured with a video on the importance of Petronas and the petrochemical industry, a major snooze-fest. Visitors who want to go to the viewing deck on the 82 floor (still not the top) pay 40 ringgit. A more expensive premium trip is also available including lunch.

Bizarrely, the statue radiates a remarkable golden glow – that’s not a Photoshop technique. And look for Thomas sitting near the column to the right, it gives you an idea of the scale.

Every single time I visit Bangkok, I’ve got to visit the Wat Phra Kaew – it’s stunning. Now you can visit it too with our 360 panorama. It’s just like standing there yourself.

To share this perfect experience, I made a 360 view of the islet from out in the water. For perspective, you can see Thomas sitting on the shore. As you spin around, notice the storms forming in the distance. We certainly noticed them that afternoon.

The clarity of the water is somewhat obscured by how the ripples are rendered during the stitching of the images for the 360.

You are heading to the Jetavanarama Dagobah in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka, also said to be the largest brick structure in the world.

The Jetavanarama Dagobah is of such significance that we created a virtual 360 panorama for you to stand there and enjoy it yourself. If it’s hard to perceive the size of the dagobah, just look for Thomas in the 360 and realize that he is still standing quite a distance from the massive structure.

Clearly, dagobahs are cool. (George Lucas clearly thought so as we all know that Dagobah is the planet where Yoda lived.) So cool, in fact, that we are putting up another 360 panorama of the Ruvanvelisaya Dagobah, also located in Anuradhapura. Although this dagobah is smaller, it is easier to get a sense of perspective because the 360 is positioned closer to the base.

Take a second to click into a 360 view of a beautiful secret jungle beach near Mirissa. This is Sri Lanka at its undeveloped best.

Ayub, the owner of our houseboat, took us on a tour of Srinagar’s old town. While we were visiting the Pir Dastgir Sahib, a beautiful sufi shrine, he got us permission to make this 360 view of the incredibly colorful interior. Keep in mind while viewing this that the detailing is done in Kashmiri papier mache.

French Thomas discovered the Mount View houseboat while he was here during the summer and strongly recommended it to us. Hearing about the suggestion, Emma and Richard stayed here as well while we were trekking in Zanskar. They also loved it.

When we walked in, we were convinced. The faded grandeur, the retro furniture, the great collection of old books and travels guides – exactly what we were looking for. And with its peaceful location on Nagin Lake rather than touristy Dal Lake, we were sold.

Well, after 19 days of walking and 275 kilometers (170 miles), we’ve finally made it to our end destination, Lamayuru. It’s been quite an adventure. To celebrate this exciting achievement, we are sharing with you the view over the incredible monastery at Lamayuru in this 360 panorama.

Well, my somewhat obsessive quest has brought us to one of the Grand Daddies of Jain architecture: the Adinath Temple, located in Ranakpur, a VERY small, one-kiosk town northwest of Udaipur. Considered one of the masterpieces of western Indian architecture, the huge fortified temple opens up into a surprisingly large multi-storied structure containing a series of vaulted chambers supported by 1,444 columns, each carved with unique designs ranging from sensuous dancers to geometric patterns to fine floral motifs.

Surprised that we hadn’t come on a daytrip and that we intended to stay overnight in the tiny town, the local Jains invited us back to the temple to participate in the evening prayers. When we returned at night, the dark, candle-lit temple was echoing with drums, giant ringing bells, and Jain chanting. At first we hung back not wanting to disturb them, but we were quickly ushered up onto the altar platform in front of the large statue of Adinath and included in the service. We had no idea of what was going on, but smiling faces kept welcoming us and everyone seemed absolutely thrilled to have us there. This is truly one of the most hospitable places we have been so far.
