Glenary’s

What’s wrong with us? We are in the beautiful Himalayan foothills but instead of exploring the surrounding countryside, we’re exploring the baked goods assortment of Glenary’s Restaurant and Bakery right across from our hotel.

Completely ignoring the great views from the cafe, our eyes are, instead, fixated on Black Forest cake, banana nut muffins, chocolate covered doughnuts, and butter croissants – and that’s just the snacks. From the breakfast of eggs with bacon AND sausage to the chicken rashmi kebab dinner (chicken marinated in yogurt and then baked tandoori style), we’re maximizing our time at Glenary’s.
Don’t judge us. This is all part of the experience. We are simply sampling the local food and, more importantly, the Indian interpretation of Western food – over and over again. But not for much longer. I’m starting to worry about Tony’s cholesterol levels as he stuffs his face with creamy cakes. It’s time to step out of Glenary’s and move on. Maybe we’ll go to the zoo – but not without another chocolate tart.
