Friends in Tagong

One reason we stayed in Tagong longer than we had intended, was the wonderful group of people we met there. With Anne-Mette, Charlotte and Rachel, we spent hours talking over breakfast and dinner at Khampa Cultural Center, and did several day trips out of Tagong.
Who are these three extraordinary women with whom we felt an immediate bond?
Let me recap, what I (want to) remember about them.
Anne-Mette
The hilarious Anne-Mette lives with her husband and son outside of Copenhagen, and is a teacher for Danish immigrants. In addition, she is a self-declared “sugar pig.” Aren’t we all?
Charlotte
Charlotte is married, has one daughter, and lives in Copenhagen. She is a social anthropologist, and feels equally strongly about Tibetan independence and men in polo shirts.
Rachel
Rachel studied French and Spanish in Britain and ended up in Shanghai of all places working as a volunteer. After six months in the big city, she went to the Tagong grasslands to enjoy some quiet time (little did she know Tony was there).
This simplified account of their characters (I hope) should entice all three to comment on their persona on this blog and tell us more about who they are and why they are so special.
