Danba Family Portrait

When we visited the watch towers in Danba, we were greeted by the caretakers, a local family, with a small gift - a couple of apples. After we enjoyed the views from the top and made our way safely down onto the ground, we paid our entry fee and were given a whole bag of apples (it was apple season after all).
When we asked if we could take some pictures of the family, they readily agreed after we told them we’d send the photos. People swarmed out of every room – hats were put on, blouses straightened, dust was brushed off, and the women redid their hair.
Tony took about 20 pictures and managed to get a few photos where almost everyone looked at the camera – it really pays to have gone digital.

Yes! I agree. The people stories and the people photos are really engaging. Everyday I check this blog (it’s my homepage now) and I honestly feel connected to these people and places that you share with us. Your trip has become a part of my experience of the world.
Thank you.
